2013 Wyckoff Education Association Scholarship
Due Monday, April 3, 2013

The Wyckoff Education Association is sponsoring two, $1500 scholarships, to be awarded to graduating high school seniors.  One will be awarded to a senior who attended the Wyckoff Public Schools and currently resides in Wyckoff. The second will be awarded to the child of a current member of the Wyckoff Education Association.  The applicant must be accepted to and planning to attend a technical school or institution of higher learning.

To be considered for the scholarship you must complete the application in its entirety and submit it with 2 reference letters, a copy of your high school transcript, and essay.  Please do not attach a “resume”; the application must be completed in full.

The completed application with all supporting documentation is due at Eisenhower School, 344 Calvin Court, Wyckoff, no later than 3:00 PM on Monday, April 3, 2013. Please indicate C/O  WEA Scholarship Committee on the envelope. Late applications will not be considered.

You will be notified in May if you are a finalist. At that time an interview will be scheduled.  For planning purposes, tentative interview dates are:  May 15th and May 16th Interviews will be scheduled beginning at 4:00, and will last for 30 minutes.  The committee realizes that high school students have busy schedules and the committee will attempt to arrange interview times to accommodate the finalists.  Keep in mind however, that the committee members’ schedules must also be considered.  If you are not able to commit to an interview or if you do not attend your scheduled interview, your application will not move forward in the selection process.

IMPORTANT TIME LIMITS

The information in this pdf file applies to certificated personnel. Some Boards may follow this policy for non-certificated employees, but that is not mandated by statute or regulation. For procedures for ESP members, look to contract language, Board policy, or past practice.

The last page of this document has the information regarding resignation vs. non-renewal and how unemployment and COBRA payments can be affected. Remember that the decision regarding resignation vs. non-renewal is up to the member, but it is important that the member has the necessary information in order to make an informed decision.
